Florida International University

Ciro Rivera-Casas, Ph.D.

I am a Molecular Biologist interested in understanding how different epigenetic marks play together to regulate gene expression. I became attracted by the structure and dynamics of chromatin working with bivalve molluscs during my Ph.D. (University of A Coruña, Spain). I complemented that work with frequent visits to the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology in the University of Victoria (Canada). In 2016 I moved to Florida International University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, investigating the relationships between environment and epigenetic modifications in the genome of marine organisms.
