Florida International University

Serena Hackerott, Ph.D. Student

I completed my B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Marine Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specifically studying coral reef ecology and the Caribbean lionfish invasion. After graduating from my M.S. in 2014, I have been teaching marine and environmental science to college students on islands in the Caribbean and Pacific, with the most recent being the Marshall Islands. I am very excited to join the EELab as a PhD student in August 2018 to study how environmental epigenetics influence stress responses and adaptation on coral reefs.
