Andria Beal, Ph.D. Candidate

I am a Ph.D. student in the EELab. My dissertation is centered around environmental epigenetics of large marine predators, focusing on sharks, dolphins and whales. A few of the projects that I will be working on for my dissertation include using epigenetic marks to gather ecologically important information (such as age), identify potential epigenetic biomarkers of environmental stressors that these animals are exposed to, and to investigate DNA methylation pattern variance in related individuals and in subpopulations. If you have any questions about my interests I would be happy to chat about my research and my ideas for the future of environmental epigenetics!
